A: Must one forgive those who wronged him but do not ask forgiveness? In the previous paragraph, Rambam Hilchot Teshuvah 2:9, he writes (Sefaria translation): > [...] but sins between man and man, for instance, one injures his neighbor, or curses his neighbor or plunders him, or offends him in like matters, is ever not absolved unless he makes restitution of what he... @ploni it should. "Hidden" SE sites aren't very hidden; what you're really linking here (behind the scenes) is your SE *network* profile, and that's visible through the API even if it's not displayed on SE. (more) |

Question | — |
What are the requirements for the body of water used for tashlich? For tashlich I'm used to joining a group, and thus somebody else figures out where to do it. But there won't be groups this year. I could of course return to any of the locations we've used in the past, but they're in public parks that are likely to be crowded, so I'd like to understand what my oth... (more) |

Question | — |
When bringing first fruits, why do we say to the priest "your God" rather than "our God"? When bringing first fruits we are commanded to say the following to the priest: > וּבָאתָ֙ אֶל־הַכֹּהֵ֔ן אֲשֶׁ֥ר יִהְיֶ֖ה בַּיָּמִ֣ים הָהֵ֑ם וְאָמַרְתָּ֣ אֵלָ֗יו הִגַּ֤דְתִּי הַיּוֹם֙ לַיהוָ֣ה אֱלֹהֶ֔יךָ כִּי־בָ֙אתִי֙ אֶל־הָאָ֔רֶץ אֲשֶׁ֨ר נִשְׁבַּ֧ע יְהוָ֛ה לַאֲבֹתֵ֖ינוּ לָ֥תֶת לָֽנוּ׃ > You sh... Unrelated to the question: if you go to your profile "edit" tab and link your Stack Exchange account there, you'll be able to link your imported questions to this profile. (I'm assuming the other Harel13 is you.) (more) |

A: Imported answers incorrectly reported Ah, there was another one! Thanks for finding that. This question was (somehow) imported twice, at these two URLs: - https://judaism.codidact.com/questions/277598 - https://judaism.codidact.com/questions/277725 Both questions were then deleted (by the System user), presumably as part of th... Question | — |
Some special encodings, including Hebrew, didn't import well We have learned by experience that the data-import process gets tripped up by some character encodings... like Hebrew. (Oops!) The mix of HTML (what we can get from SE) and Markdown and character encodings contributes to these errors, and especially with RTL thrown in, our developers are concerned ... (more) |

Claiming your imported posts We've run data import for the first time on this community, which means some of your content might be here but be attributed to a stub user created for the sake of attribution. This post is about claiming your content. If you have an account on another Codidact site where imports have happened, a... (more) |

I will clean up the comments here later. Depending on what happens with the Hebrew, we might need the original links for some post-processing. (more) |

A: Imported answer forbidden from viewing That's bizarre. The question was imported and then deleted by System. I don't know why, so I've undeleted it and confirmed its visibility in an incognito window (i.e. while not signed in). Update: every answer on that question was duplicated, so it looks like something strange happened during th... (more) |

A: Please post your data-import requests here. The first round of data imports has been done. You can distinguish an imported question from a native one by the Stack Exchange icon next to the tags: screenshot I said before that posts could be imported with scores. While what I said was literally correct, it was an error -- the script reco... (more) |

Question | — |
How should one who hears lashon hara respond? I've read a lot about lashon hara from the perspective of (not) speaking it. My question is from the other side: what are one's obligations, both halacha and ethically (per Judaism), upon witnessing it? I understand that we're supposed to not believe it, but are we supposed to take other actions? ... (more) |
