Answer A: Double Posting here and on Mi Yodeya
>והתנא האריך להגדיל תורה ויאדיר > >And the teacher expanded to spread Torah and glorify [it]. (Tosfos, BK 2a) Codidact and Stack Exchange are two independent sites. They may have similar functionality at a cursory glance, and they may have overlapping user bases, but they're unrelated entities. ...

Question Divrei Torah Category
It's been previously suggested to create a Divrei Torah category. With Elul coming up I'm sure there's lots that the community has to share — should we create this forum in which people can do so? The idea, if implemented, is to create a new category, alongside our current Q&A, Challenges, and Met...

Comment Post #277287 Relevant is footnote 1 [here](https://judaism.codidact.com/questions/277118#answer-277193). In short, one only fulfills the mitzvah of Shofar if he hears the קול הברה, and it's possible that your question, supposing that the sound is actually affected by the mask covering the opening, could be one of...

Question What happened to the end of the Aleph-Beis in Kol Mekadesh?
One of the songs commonly sung on Friday night, which begins Kol Mekadesh Shevi'i, follows an alphabetic acrostic. After the introductory stanza, each stanza contains four phrases: the first three follow the alphabet, and the fourth is a Biblical excerpt which does not fit the alphabetical pattern. A...

Comment Post #277287 I just tried this myself. In my humble opinion I don’t hear a difference between if the end is covered with a mask or not. Just to test I did try it with the mask over the _short_ end – needless to say I couldn’t get a sound out at all.

Article Weekly Topic Challenge #5: Shabbos Songs/Zemiros
This week's challenge is Shabbos songs/Zemiros. To participate in the challenge, all you have to do is make your way over to the main questions tab and ask a question on this topic. Make sure to tag it with [[zemirot]](https://judaism.codidact.com/categories/32/tags/3334), then copy a link to you...

Comment Post #277227 Your question contradicts itself. Were you taught that tznius is a Rabbinic enactment, or that a breach of tznius is a problem of “placing a stumbling block,” an explicit Biblical prohibition?

Comment Post #277077 @Monica Would something like a [Google Forms](https://docs.google.com/forms) submission be of help for organizing data requests? That way it’d be easier to keep track on your end of which posts still need to be imported, and on our end of which comments are still necessary and which are obsolete.

Answer A: What is the difference between אנכי and אני in the torah?
On Exodus 11:4, Rabbi Samson Rafael Hirsch writes:[^1] >אני stems from the root אנה: emanating and flowing from the personality. Thus אני denotes the personality who feels himself in opposition to the other; the personality from whom something issues forth to the other. אנכי, on the other hand, de...

Sources All translations and emphases are my own.

Comment Post #277077 @Monica In my case I manually cross-posted two questions: one I don't want imported (the mermaid question), and the other being word-for-word copied but unanswered on both platforms.

Comment Post #277047 If it's okay with you I went ahead and edited in a Wikipedia link to the Loong and reformatted your quote. I left your annotation alone following the translation, but you should know that Sefaria's translation follows Rashi's first interpretation: ציצין - תרגום של סנפיר. לשון אחר כמו שערות

Question Is there any connection between the Sotah, the Mizbeiach, and the Beis HaMikdash keychain?
In exactly three contexts, the Mishnah notes that there was an amah square marble slab with a ring, using exactly the same language each time. The first is in Sotah 2:2, regarding the Sotah procedure: >נִכְנַס לַהֵיכָל וּפָנָה לִימִינוֹ, וּמָקוֹם הָיָה שָׁם אַמָּה עַל אַמָּה, וְטַבְלָא שֶׁל שַׁ...

Comment Post #276982 @Alaychem I'm not married yet, much less have kids old enough to be in shul. When I was little I couldn't understand the parsha, and when I was older I took "to uncover [his/her] nakedness" at its literal translation of undressing them. It wasn't until well into high school that I properly understood...

Comment Post #277038 This is very insightful, but it doesn't seem to answer the question at hand — I'm not asking for a unified definition of חנם, but rather where the translation of חנם as baseless originates.
