Will you help us build our community of learners? Drop into our study hall, ask questions, help others with answers to their questions, share a d'var torah if you're so inclined, invite your friends, and join us in building this community together. Comment Post #285008 @#8046 Much better. Thank you.

Comment Post #285008 I was initially confused by the title's mention of the connection between "start of the day" and "sunset". The later answer helped me out somewhat, but for the benefit of people who aren't practicing Jews but who stumble upon this question either by accident or on purpose, since in astronomical parla...

Comment Post #282330 Hi Istiak. I proposed an edit in an attempt to better summarize your question in a title. I hope it is an improvement; certainly feel free to edit further!

Comment Post #279768 I wouldn't be surprised if this is the same issue as that described in [Notifications button not working when inside a Q&A when it contains posts you created](https://meta.codidact.com/q/279654), possibly rearing its head in a slightly different manner.

Comment Post #277463 Also, please read again what I wrote. I did not say you should not take downvotes seriously. I gave specific examples of how I take downvotes seriously. I *did* say that you shouldn't take downvotes *personally*, which isn't the same thing. As for why people downvote posts, I already gave several exa...

Comment Post #277463 @interested I haven't voted any posts down on Judaism Codidact (check my profile), so your "most likely" is already factually wrong. This isn't "my site"; if anything, it's the community's. I'm not a moderator on Judaism Codidact. I am a moderator on two other Codidact sites, but that doesn't give me...

Answer A: Give reasons for downvotes.
There are many possible reasons for downvotes. A single downvote really just means that someone didn't like the post; disagreed with it; felt (justified or not) that it was wrong; difficult to read; showed a lack of research; or any of a phletora of other possible reasons, some of which are going ...

Comment Post #276682 @manassehkatz Looks to me like it has been updated now, at least. Maybe you need to manually reload (or force-reload) the page?

Comment Post #276677 At least if you're using Firefox, you can see which font *actually* gets used in your particular case by right-clicking the text element, choosing "Inspect Element", then selecting "Fonts" to the right, and looking at "Fonts Used". Other browsers almost certainly have very similar functionality.

Comment Post #276540 @AA That's certainly a reasonable argument in favor of importing content. The purpose of my post here was more to illustrate that there are also arguments *against* importing content. Which decision you, as a community, end up making is yours to figure out.

Comment Post #276449 @manassehkatz Like I said, not really a big issue, just something to be aware of when someone says "what links are you talking about, I don't see any links".

Answer A: What content do we want to import from Mi Yodeya?
Allow me to make a counter-proposal. Don't import any content wholesale, but be open to the idea of importing specific questions and their answers. Why in the world do it that way, you ask? Even though it's only been a few days, Judaism Codidact already has 14 questions, only three of which ...

Comment Post #276449 It looks to me like the linking is done each time, on the client side. So if the person *reading* the post has that Javascript blocked, then they don't get the links. Not really a big issue, but might be worth keeping in mind.

Answer A: What is the purpose of comments?
> Here, it can be even worse, since (as far as I can tell) comments cannot be flagged for moderator attention True; specifically flagging comments doesn't seem to have been implemented yet (and I don't know whether or not it's on the roadmap, though I would expect we get something like it eventual...

Comment Post #276371 @manassehkatz For visibility, as well as voting, if you're answering the question I really suggest that you post it as an answer. That's even more important here than on SE, because comments cannot be upvoted on Codidact.

Comment Post #276371 @Dani Having easy access to a Hebrew input method is definitely good for those who know Hebrew. I don't think it's much help for anyone else, though.

Answer A: What language(s) should we use for tags?
As an outsider, I would really suggest to have English tags be the primary, or at the very least available and discoverable. Whether it's better to solve that by having bilingual tag names, or by having tag synonyms (one in English and one in Hebrew), or by only using English for tag names, is som...
