Welcome to the Judaism community on Codidact!

Will you help us build our community of learners? Drop into our study hall, ask questions, help others with answers to their questions, share a d'var torah if you're so inclined, invite your friends, and join us in building this community together. Not an ask-the-rabbi service, just people at all levels learning together.

Comment Post #277944 @‭DonielF‭ I assume that if the Tora use a [title that refers to] divine name for naming something secular (masters, idols) so may we.

Comment Post #277865 In a similar vein, when I was young, I encountered a video game [can't remember it's name] where one of the enemies named "Elohim". Is playing this game is heresy?

Comment Post #277273 @AA It seems that we understand the question differently. Since the Tora lean towards practical actions, rather then abstract principles, I thought that the OP meant "which practical actions with ethical meaning behind them are still unique to the oral Tora". If the OP meant like your understanding, ...

Comment Post #277273 @AA Shameful mistake by me, edited. Also, there is ethical teaching when God tells us that our ownership on our land is limited, and people should get a fresh start.

Comment Post #277047 @Harel13 The Drakon in the Gemara was worshiped, as the Chinese Long. If the Greek Dragon figures were not worshiped, they are halacha-wise equivalent to "Hello kitty" dolls.

Comment Post #276875 @DonielF. As I said many times before, applying pre-*Matan Tora* people with S"H is a bad strategy, and even then, "honoring your parents" is beyoned the strict ruling - "ויש שהוא כודנו ברחיים ויורש גן עדן"

Comment Post #276731 @Harel13 *Punkt Fakert* (The exact opposite). In my suggestion, the metaphor is stronger. People will say, "prostitutes (who compete) credit each other, but Rashb"i didn't credit his fellow sage?!" BTW the word competing is not part of the Gemara, I edited my question.
