Holding a menorah-pitcher or an incense-pan while blessing the people
Mishna, Tamid 7:2:
[The kohanim who had participated in the morning service] went to stand on the steps of the antechamber to the main room of the Temple. The first five [namely, the five who had performed a service within the main room itself] stood to the south of their brethren kohanim, with five utensils [that they had ust finished using] in their hands: the basket in the hand of one, the pitcher in the hand of another,… and they blessed the people.… Elsewhere, the kohanim would raise their hands opposite their shoulders [to bless the people], but in the Temple over their heads.…
Did the kohanim put the utensils down while blessing the people, or continue to hold them?
