What's the main Jewish Holy Book?

What is the Jewish holy book? As far as I know that is Torah. Even, I had heard that Torah is in Arabic. While searching it again, I found that there's difference between Torah in Islam and Torah in Jews. Really!! Same name but, different context? According to the site, Torah was written in Hebrew. Later, it had translated to Arabic and other languages. As far as I know, some Muslim (rarely) reads Torah. I had met a Jews. I was Muslim at that moment. He was Atheist (Jews by family). I told him to read Quran than, he will be sure that Religion actually exists. He said that he had read Torah (I don't know now which Torah he mentioned). I again told him to read Quran. He said,"Torah is related to Quran". What did he mean? Torah in Islam and Torah in Jews same!? Could you give me source (link) where I can read Torah in English?

It’s the Torah. The Torah and Quran are related perhaps but they’re not the same. The Torah is in Heb... (1 comment)

You're asking several questions and implying others; I think that reading the Wikipedia article on Torah

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Torah

would answer both the questions you think you have and the questions you are implying; and if it does not, it should enable you to ask more focused questions here.

It depends on the "type" of Judaism:

  • For Karaite Jews it is the Tanakh (תנ"ך) which includes the (masoretic-version) of the Torah.

  • For Rabbanite Jews it is not just one book but practically Talmud (תלמוד), Mishnah (משנה), Halakah literature (הלכה). Musar literature (מוסר), Kabbalah literature (קבלה) and also the Tanakh which includes the (masoretic-version) of the Torah but much as folklore/something to deeply interpret then to be understood literally.

  • These types of Judaism are just two of the several "byproducts" of Second Temple Judaism, in which the Tanakh-standalone-books and Mishnah-oral-traditions existed (until both where comprised into two single books "Tanakh" and "Mishnah", sometimes after the destruction of the second temple).
