Sources discussing electric cars on Chol Hamo'ed
I was reading about driving a car on Chol Hamo'ed and the article stated that many see the melacha of driving as tied to havarah (which I assume to refer to the burning of gas via combustion). The quote in the email was, "Contemporary poskim discuss how this halacha applies to driving a car, which entails the melachah of havarah (burning a fire). Some say that since it is a melachah, it may only be done for a Moed purpose." Has there been discussion by those who see the issue as burning, about the use of electric cars at times when that melacha is forbidden?
