Sources discussing electric cars on Chol Hamo'ed

I was reading about driving a car on Chol Hamo'ed and the article stated that many see the melacha of driving as tied to havarah (which I assume to refer to the burning of gas via combustion). The quote in the email was, "Contemporary poskim discuss how this halacha applies to driving a car, which entails the melachah of havarah (burning a fire). Some say that since it is a melachah, it may only be done for a Moed purpose."

Has there been discussion by those who see the issue as burning, about the use of electric cars at times when that melacha is forbidden?

By the same logic you could drive on Yom Tov, at least to the grocery AA ‭ 5 months ago

Like any library, this site offers tons of great information, but does not offer personalized, professional advice, and does not take the place of seeking such advice from your rabbi.
