Why did the Ark rest on Ararat?

Why did the Ark rest on Ararat? It seems random. Why not have it rest in Eretz Yisrael, for example?

Radak says coincidence, the Tzror Hamor says something about its being a remez and the Ohr Chadash ties it to Haman's ancestors. I think. I can't follow it https://www.sefaria.org/Genesis.8.4?lang=bi&with=Ohr%20Chadash|Quoting&lang2=en I also found this -- good luck...https://www.sefaria.org/Genesis.8.4?lang=bi&with=Be%27er%20Mayim%20Chaim&lang2=en

To your second question, isn't there a midrash (that I can't find now) that Eretz Yisrael was exempt from the flood? If so, then the ark wouldn't be able to float to a resting point there.

@MonicaCellio after some thinking, I would say that aderabah, why not tell Noach to build a ship and not an ark and to set sail to Yisrael? But even if one prefers the purpose of an ark, which seems to be the aimlessness of floating in water without knowing what will happen next or whether things will ever calm down, why not float the ark to the shores of Yisrael?
