Welcome to the Judaism community on Codidact!
Will you help us build our community of learners? Drop into our study hall, ask questions, help others with answers to their questions, share a d'var torah if you're so inclined, invite your friends, and join us in building this community together. Not an ask-the-rabbi service, just people at all levels learning together.
Benefitting from A"Z
I do not mean this as a practical question -- if I have to do that, I'll ask local authorities. This is more about the theory of the idea.
I know that we try to separate ourselves from Avodah Zarah.
I was looking at some messages about Aliyah and saw that an Evangelical Christian is volunteering to pay for flights for olim because that will mean he has helped bring Jews to Israel which will lead to, he believes, his messianic figure to appear. Therefore, I am helping him advace his vision of belief and I am benefitting from his religious fervor and practice.
Should that be permitted or does taking advantage of his largesse fall into some (cynical) loophole?
[yes, this presumes that Christianity is a type of A"Z that would have been forbidden in the gemara]
