Variant Minhagim in Messianic Days
Once moshiach comes, we will have resolution to all sorts of halachic issues which have been left unresolved (teikus for example and even, maybe eilu v'eilu cases). But what about minhagim, some of which having risen to a level almost of a binding halacha? Will there be a single nusach of tefilla? Will we eat kitniyot on Pesach? Which form of tefillin will we tie? How long will we wait after eating meat before eating milk products? Communities developed local understandings and practices, and applications of law which are specific to one teacher, school or place but these are practices which we are commanded to hold dear to. Will we have to abandon them once we have a nationally unified religious practice?
