Animal product spoons and Kashrut
Do food service products made from non-kosher sources create a kashrut problem when they are used with food (or even without)? There are spoons made from mother of [pearl ](https://caviarstar.com/black-mother-of-pearl-serving-spoon-4-inch/)(from mollusk shells), used generally for caviar, and there are spoons carved from animal [bones](https://www.africancraftsmarket.com/products/cooking-utensils/african-bone-spoon.html). Would using either of these make the food not halachically appropriate? Does it matter if the food is hot or is there a problem with the spoon itself (so even putting an empty spoon in one's mouth would be a problem)?
