Are questions purely about the State/Land of Israel in-scope?
On Mi Yodeya, questions about the State/Land of Israel that aren't clearly about Judaism are considered out of scope. Should that be the case here, or should questions about Israel be ipso facto on-topic?
Questions to consider, assuming that close reasons unrelated to scope (too broad, opinion-based, etc.) are not applicable:
- Ancient or medieval international politics
- Science of the literal land of Israel (geology, zoology, botany, meteorology, etc.)
- Archaeological discoveries
- Practical questions on making Aliyah
- Practical tourism questions (advice, recommendations, safety concerns, etc.)
- Modern politics (assuming we can keep it civil!)
There is overlap between this question and the Jews/history question. For the sake of discussion, assume nothing about whether questions about Jews or their history unrelated to Judaism are on-topic or not, unless that somehow impacts your answer (in which case please explain how and why!).

I think archaeology should be in scope, but I'm not sure that talking about every monastery that the Crusaders built, for example, is in scope. Similar to what I wrote in Jewish/history, I think that questions about Crusaders' impact on Jewish communities in Israel, perhaps even myths about connections between Jews and Crusaders in Israel (again, just an example) are okay.
I'm also for talking about the literal science of the land of Israel. Quite a bit of it can and does overlap with the Tanach and the Gemara, too.
The other points, I'm not sure about yet.
