@racquetball I too have seen many places where the overwhelming majority of participants are careful about this. Assertions otherwise won't really do much to convince those who have seen this with their own eyes. I would recommend modifying the question to be more specific to avoid further downvotes,... @manassehkatz when I teach the last section of a masechta to others who plan on making a separate formal siyum, I ask them to leave the room, and not to read that section (at the very least, not to read it out loud) until their siyum.
